Why Should You Get a Printed Visitor System Rather Than a Computer Based System?

Computer Frustration

1. It takes around 15 seconds for a visitor to sign in and be issued their pass using a printed visitor pass system. Using a computer system this will take at least one minute (the receptionist has to ask for your visitor’s details, key them into the system, wait for the pass to be printed etc...). If you have a high number of visitors, this will take up a large amount of your receptionist’s time, every day.

2. In the event of an emergency, the power can be cut. If you rely on a computer system, you will not be able to print out a list of who is in the building. This will not be a problem for the manual visitor pass system.

3. Computer visitor pass systems have much higher initial purchase costs. Ongoing support costs, replacement of ink cartridges and necessary software upgrades all mount up. Such costs make these systems an expensive option to undertake.

4. Computer systems and printers are always liable to crash or not work correctly. This is not an issue for printed passes.

5. No technical knowledge is necessary in order to run and manage a manual visitor pass system.
