The Cash Payment Journal is an important product in our range of manual business systems which records all money paid out for the purchase of goods and/or services and all other costs associated with running the business.
It is common practise that a Cash Payment Journal has multi analysis columns to analyse payments and for this reason we use a loose leaf binder and writing board for the cash payment system.
Sufficient Cash Book Journal sheets enough for one or two months are housed in the binder. The writing board is placed under the first journal sheet fitting the writing board studs through the holes used for this purpose on the left hand-side of the journal. A run of ten cheques is aligned over the first available line of the journal using the carbon strip of the first cheque as a guide. The cheque is completed and the spot carbon on the back of the cheque enables the Cash Payment Journal to be completed in the one entry.
Apart from saving one entry the cheque butt is eliminated and as a consequence there is less chance of a transcription error/s between records and because the journal is an exact copy of the cheque the bank reconciliation is simplified.
